The SMOOTH Project

Work Packages Descriptions  

The SMOOTH project will be executed through eight logical Work Packages (WP) and shall be implemented in phases through the four technical  packages presented below as Work Packages 2 to 5:

WP2 will focus on ensuring that all available data and consultations are taken in account for developing and implementing adequate solutions to user needs, including cycling and walking, Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) systems and other services to complement the existing Public Transport network.  It will include consideration of promotional campaigns and accompanying measures (parking, fares, etc.); WP2 will therefore include all demand management strategies that can efficiently monitor the transport demand and define its requirements.

WP3 will gather together safety audits and user consultations for designing the safety improvement works for cycling and walking, and setting up cycling and walking buses for schools.

WP4 will gather all studies and consultations that will assist in the preparation of specifications for setting up  DemandResponsive Transport services.

WP5 includes all the implementation and operational activities.

WP1 includes all coordination activities, project meetings and reporting with the objective of managing effectively the progreess of the project, its timely implementation, reporting data of good value under good format and time constraints, and supporting the consortium partners.

WP6 will gather all evaluation activities with the objective of providing the framework for a common assessment of the action

WP7 will gather all training activities that will constitute a real knowledge transfer centre from the SMOOTH contributors

WP8 will gather all dissemination activities with the aim of spreading over key stakeholders, target groups and  Europe wide the methods, the results and the rationale of the SMOOTH project.
